Nissan has always had that tendency to entice users with its design ideas. The 2017 Nissan Juke takes that tendency to a new level. This is a subcompact crossover which is, as considered by many people, a head turner. Those who criticize the bodywork will not do so anymore, once they get their hands behind the wheel. Yes, the performance of this crossover continues unprecedented among the competition.

The Engine

There are two different engines shared between the five trims of the 2017 Juke. On the lower end is a 1.6-liter inline 4 turbocharged engine that has the capacity of producing 188 horsepower, clocking at 5,600 rpm. This is assisted by a torque of 177 lb/ft. The power and precision blend well to make up the fairly decent fuel economy of the subcompact crossover. In a front wheel drive, you will enjoy a 28 mpg in cities and a 32 mpg on highways whereas the AWD offer 26 mpg and 30 mpg respectively.

This gets twisted with the Nismo RS trim of the Juke. With the same engine, but different clocking rates, different transmissions of the trim produce distinctive torque and horsepower. The manual FWD transmission which clocks at 6,000 rpm and is assisted by a 210 lb/ft torque can produce a 215 horsepower—pretty good in the segment of subcompact crossovers. You get to enjoy a fuel economy of 26 mpg and 31 mpg in cities and on a highway respectively.

The AWD automatic transmission of the Nismo RS trim clocks at 2,000 rpm. With a torque of 184 pound-per-feet, the engine can produce up to a decent 211 horsepower. In cities, this transmission engine will offer a fuel economy of 25 mpg; while on the highways, you will experience an economy of 29 mpg.

What’s Different?

While there are quite a bit of things that are different in the 2017 Juke model, the standardization of heated mirrors and front seats is what stands out. Furthermore, a special Black Pearl model has been launched which features an exquisite mesh of black and white colors. The new aluminum alloy wheels in SL and SV trims are also a new addition in the 2017 model.

In a Nutshell

The 2017 Nissan Juke allows you to enjoy a sporty subcompact crossover SUV for a far too reasonable price.. With brand new bodywork, several comfort features within the cabin, and a decent engine, this SUV will surely be a great one to opt for.
